Leena has a visa (immigration document, not a credit card)

Today was a much more relaxing day than we have had so far. It was so fun to see and talk with our family via Skype. Leena was intrigued to see them on the laptop. It only made us more homesick, and we've only been gone for a week.
After talking with the family, we started the day at the U. S. Embassy. We met a family from Columbus, Ohio who are also in the process of adopting a little girl. We had about 45 minutes to talk while we waited for our visas to be processed. It was fun to talk with them and compare notes about the process.
It was so fun to receive Leena's visa, and know that everything is now cleared for us to bring her home. Being on U. S. soil at the Embassy, and seeing her U. S. Visa in her Indian passport made me feel a surge of patriotism. Our agency advised us to schedule Monday as an extra day in case there was a hiccup in the visa process. Having now received the visa, we went to our airline's offices to see whether we could arrange for an earlier flight. Unfortunately, there is nothing available.
We then went to the Kashmir Emporium here in Delhi, which sells handicrafts, scarfs, saris, pillows, etc. I probably don't need to tell you how exciting this was for Nate and me.
We do not feel any increased risk due to the violence in Mumbai. When we asked at the Embassy, they are not recommending any special precautions for this area (other than obviously avoiding Mumbai during the violence). As we talked with the store clerks at the emporium, it seemed important to them for us to know that the terrorists were from outside India, and there is not a general anti-American sentiment in India. They repeatedly said that this is a terrorist attack from outside terrorists, that could and has happened in many other countries. Following the Emporium, we came back to the hotel for lunch, and let Leena (and us) have a short nap. This evening we walked down to the street market, which is only a block from our hotel.
Leena loves her bath. Our hotel room does not actually have a bathtub. Rather, it is a bucket with a cup. (We don't know if this is common, but our hotel in Pune had a similar arrangement.) Leena sits on the floor of the shower and and we fill the bucket with water and use the cup to poor it over her. Leena loves to splash and play. Tonight she spent 45 minutes playing, and still wanted more when we took her out so we could call our families.
Leena continues to attract attention every where we go. At the street market, Nate and I stopped in a shop to buy a pair of the latest in high fashion shoes for him ($5, Nate's using his newly developed "Blue Steel" look in the photo). When we came out, Heather was surrounded by about a dozen men, all asking about Leena and the adoption. Every person I've spoken to emphasizes how fortunate Leena is to be going to a family in the United States.
Every day she is more comfortable with all of us. Heather is still her clear favorite, except for 45 minutes during her bath, when I may have been #1. I think I have my new strategy - more baths for Leena.

It was so fun to see and talk to you this morning! You all look great. Nate, those shoes will be the envy of all! I'm sure Cole is hoping you'll bring him some. Dalton, Eliza and Cole are all doing well. We are having a good time but miss you. Love, Lyssa

Scotty, Matt, David and Parker are all jealous of Nate's shoes - sort of Austin Powers-like! (I must admit I haven't seen the movie - just the previews!) We are happy you are safe and getting to know each other. We can hardly wait to meet and hug little Leena. Your kids have been great. Stay safe and stay together. Love, the Jacksons
