Let The Fun Begin

This past month has been a whirlwind of jet-lag, doctor's appointments, getting to know each other, Christmas parties, friends, Christmas shopping, present wrapping, sleep deprivation, minor surgery (tubes in ears for Leena), visits from Aunt's and cousins, and discovery . . . oh the discovery! What a joy to have Leena home!

We are amazed at how well she is doing. She is really adapting to the craziness of the Hansen family. In fact, Leena adds to it wonderfully. She is very curious. She has been teaching me how to childproof my home. That is all we do all day. She plays with something that she shouldn't and I take it away and clean it up while she discovers the next thing she shouldn't until I take it away and clean it up while she is . . . you get the picture. Finally at 3:00 I am waiting by the door for Cole to get home from school. He runs in and says "Where is Leena?" and I hand her over so I can try to get something done. The kids all take turns playing with her until bedtime.

Christmas was awesome. The kids all drew names for each other. This was the first year that everybody paid for their gifts to each other, even Dalton who has more money than everyone because of his candy deal. It was a magical day with Leena loving all of the wrapping paper and garbage. She kept getting the paper and boxes out of the garbage to play with. It was fun to see Kent and Nate having a tea party with Leena.

Leena is thriving. We are so happy to have her home. It has been such a blessing for our family. We all love her so!
